Privacy

We collect one thing, for one purpose, and you can end it in one click. The rest of this page explains that in the language the regulators prefer.

Who is responsible

The controller of your data is ZUZU Inc. (株式会社ZUZU), a company registered in Japan, which publishes Japan Stock Files. The publication itself is unsigned; the publisher is not. For anything on this page, write to privacy@japanstockfiles.com.

What we collect

• Your email address, if you enter it into the registration form, together with the date you submitted it.
• Ordinary delivery data generated when we send you an email — whether it was delivered, and whether it bounced.
• Aggregate traffic data from our host, which counts requests and countries. It is not tied to you and we do not attempt to tie it to you.

We do not ask for your name, your employer, your portfolio, or anything about your finances, and you should not send them to us.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

To send you the publication you asked for, and nothing else. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form; you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we sent you before you did.

What we never do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your address. To anyone. For any amount.
• We do not share it with sponsors, advertisers, or the companies we write about.
• We do not use it to build a profile of you.

Who else touches it

Our email delivery provider stores the list and sends the messages on our behalf, under a data-processing agreement, and may process it outside Japan — including in the United States — under the safeguards required by applicable law. Our host serves the pages and keeps short-lived request logs. That is the complete list; if it changes, this page changes with it.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party tracking scripts. If we ever add privacy-preserving analytics, we will say so here before we switch it on.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until an address has been undeliverable long enough that keeping it serves nobody. When you unsubscribe we delete the address, retaining only what is necessary to avoid mailing you again by accident.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop, or object to our processing of it. Write to privacy@japanstockfiles.com and we will answer within 30 days. Every email we send also carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which is faster than we are.

If you are in the EU or the UK and think we have handled this badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first.

Children

This publication is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
