What this is

Japan Stock Files is an independent publication about Japanese corporate disclosure, published in English and freely accessible to anyone. It is published by ZUZU Inc. (株式会社ZUZU), a company registered in Japan. It is free. There is no paid tier, no member area, and no payment is ever requested.

What this is not

Nothing here is investment advice. We publish factual information and general commentary addressed to an unspecified readership. We do not provide individualised advice, ratings, target prices, valuations, or recommendations to buy or sell any security, and we do not solicit anyone to do either. We do not know your circumstances and we are not trying to. If you need advice about your own money, engage someone licensed to give it.

The rules the desk works under

Unsigned. We publish without bylines — not to hide, since the publisher is a company registered in Japan and the registry is public, but because a byline invites you to weigh the writer instead of the filing.
No positions. The desk does not trade Japanese single stocks. Any of them. Ever.
Primary sources only. Statutory filings and company disclosures. No aggregators, no data resellers, no second-hand summaries.
Sponsor limits. If we ever accept sponsorship it will never be from a company we cover, its affiliates, or an affiliate of the publisher's parent, and it will be labelled where you cannot miss it.
Corrections. Within 72 hours, at the top of the piece, with the history left public.

Accuracy

Figures are derived from public filings, and much of this site is assembled by software. Software makes mistakes, and so do we. We do not warrant that anything here is accurate, current, or complete, and we accept no liability for decisions taken on the strength of it. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it and say that we did: corrections@japanstockfiles.com.

Quote us, link to us, argue with us. Please attribute, and please do not republish whole pieces or reproduce the site wholesale. The underlying public filings belong to the public; our writing and drawings do not.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute arising from them.
